We're committed to both animals and the people who care for them. Before proceeding with a surrender application, let's explore some alternative solutions. We offer support and can connect you with our community to find temporary foster care for your dog. While we may not have immediate solutions, we'll work diligently to find resources that help maintain your animal's health and well-being.
The surrender process
AlbertaPAWWS is not a drop-off center. Because we are still growing, operations are primarily managed from a private residence. If you're considering surrendering your dog, please reach out to us via phone, application, or email at info@lbertapawws,ca to discuss your situation. Providing detailed information about your dog, their health, and their home environment will help us evaluate potential new homes. We may request a surrender fee, past vet records, information on allergies, current food, medications, and any other health concerns. We welcome animals with special needs and have a proven track record of successfully placing dogs with disabilities, health conditions, or impairments in loving adoptive homes. We also have extensive experience in whelping, raising, and vaccinating puppies.
After you apply
If, after exploring all options, you decide that surrendering your pet is the best choice, we will provide updates and full disclosure throughout the process, should you want it. Agreements for visitation with your dog can be included in the adoption contract. We customize adoptions to suit both sides of the adoption, ensuring the best possible outcome for everyone involved.
